On 1/31, armed with secret code BARATTA, the speech team rolled into Yorkville’s End of the Season Tournament and absolutely WHEY-LAYED the competition.
🥇 Kamren Colquitt took Tournament Champion in Extemp and 7th in Radio.
🥇 Marv Duncan earned Tournament Champion in Original Oratory and 5th in Informative.
🥇 Andy George & William Johnson melted the room, winning Tournament Champion in Humorous Duet Acting in their first-ever finals.
👏 Shout-out to Sir’Maj Fisher for earning their first-ever 1 in a round!

Speech Team Andy George & William Johnson melted the room, winning Tournament Champion in Humorous Duet Acting in their first-ever finals.

Speech Team Marv Duncan earned Tournament Champion in Original Oratory and 5th in Informative.

Shadow Day was a huge success, with over 200 students visiting a wide range of careers, including police and fire stations, Pepper construction, Neurology office, law office, government, real estate, the IBEW, and greenhouse operations and more.

Congratulations to M3 drummer Ethan, he has been selected for the ILMEA All State Convention. He has been recognized as the top drummer in the state of Illinois. He will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the top high school musicians from Illinois in a 3 day long stretch of rehearsals and performances. He will get the chance to work with world renowned composers and performers. This is his second consecutive year earning this honor and we couldn't be more proud to have Ethan represent Rich Township at the state level!

Due to the anticipated inclement weather, all Rich Township High School District 227 buildings, along with District 159, 160, 162, 163, and Southland College Prep will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 23rd. We will implement our e-learning plan to ensure students continue their education.

You can access the e-learning plan using the links below:

We will be running on a Late Start Wednesday schedule. The first phase class will begin at 9:25 AM.
