Today, we held an exciting Activity Fair, giving students the opportunity to explore a variety of sports, clubs, and activities! Students met coaches, sponsors, and student leaders while learning more about ways to get involved. There's truly something for everyone!

📣 Student Council Informational Meeting

Interested in getting involved and making your voice heard at Rich Township High School?

Student Council will host its first informational meeting for the 2026–2027 school year on Wednesday, August 26 at 4:00 p.m. in the Media Center at the FAC Campus.

The meeting is open to current Student Council members and any students interested in joining.

Community takes care of community. ❤️ As families across the South Suburbs continue to recover from this week’s severe weather and power outages, Southland College Prep opened its doors in partnership with the American Red Cross to provide a place for families to receive support. We were grateful to be able to contribute to the effort by providing meals from the Rich Township Food Truck. Thank you to everyone across our communities who continues to lend a hand, share resources, and support their neighbors. Special thanks to Dot Foods for their support and Domino's Pizza in Richton Park for their donation.

As educators across our community begin a new school year, sometimes the most important reminder comes from the students we serve.

For our Opening Day, we invited students from our feeder schools to share what they need from their future teachers, and to offer a few words of encouragement to the educators preparing to welcome them into their classrooms.

Their message was simple and powerful: believe in us, challenge us, support us, and never underestimate the difference you can make.

To every teacher beginning a new school year: good luck, have a great year, and remember your why.

The lessons matter. The relationships matter. The moments matter.

Most importantly, the students are counting on us.

🚨 IMPORTANT SCHEDULE UPDATE 🚨

Due to the continued power outage impacting our STEM Campus, Rich Township High School District 227 is making the following schedule changes:

❌ Freshman Family Night — CANCELED for tonight, Thursday, August 13 at both campuses.

📅 Freshman First Day
NEW DATE: Monday, August 17

📅 First Day for ALL Students
NEW DATE: Tuesday, August 18

There will be no student attendance on Friday, August 14.

We are actively working with ComEd and our community partners to remedy the situation as quickly as possible and restore normal operations at our STEM Campus.

We appreciate the flexibility, patience, and understanding of our families as we navigate the continued power outage. Please continue to monitor district communications for additional updates.

Dear Rich Township Families, Due to inclement weather and power outages throughout the area, device pickup scheduled for the remainder of today, Tuesday, August 11, has been cancelled. Students will receive their Chromebooks according to the following updated schedule: • 9th Grade: Students will receive their devices during Freshman First Day on Friday, August 14. • 10th, 11th & 12th Grades: Students will receive their devices on the first day of school, Monday, August 17. There is no need for families to reschedule today’s device pickup. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students, families, and staff. The Mobile Care Unit will be at the STEM Campus on Thursday, August 27, 2026, and the FAC Campus on Friday, August 28, 2026. Space is limited, and families are encouraged to submit paperwork as soon as possible.

Tonight, Rich Township Poms took part in National Night Out! Our Poms team enjoyed handing out RTHS spirit gear, talking to future Raptors, and greeting families throughout the community. It was a great evening connecting with the community.
