Rich Township High School District 227’s STEM Campus additions and renovations have received an Honorable Mention in the Illinois Association of School Boards’ 2026 Exhibition of Educational Environments.
Twenty-two school designs were submitted for this year’s exhibition, with only nine projects selected to receive awards. The Rich Township STEM Campus project, designed by STR Partners, was one of four projects recognized with an Honorable Mention.
The annual awards recognize outstanding examples of school design and planning. Projects are evaluated based on their design, safety, energy-use reduction, challenges addressed and ability to meet students’ educational needs.
The STEM Campus improvements included a state-of-the-art engineering, robotics and manufacturing lab wing, a new cafeteria, renovated science classrooms and other spaces designed to expand opportunities for collaboration and hands-on learning.
This recognition reflects Rich Township’s continued investment in safe, innovative and student-centered learning environments. We thank STR Partners and everyone who helped bring the district’s vision for the STEM Campus to life.
The award-winning projects will be featured during the Joint Annual Conference in Chicago this November.
