Our Parent-Teacher Conference is a great opportunity to maintain and improve communication between parents and teachers. 
2.16.16 Board Meeting Update
The Board of Education Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 16 at 6:30 p.m. will be held in the at Rich South High School Auditorium, 5000 Sauk Trail in Richton Park, IL. 
CTE students participate in Solar Spotlight event sponsored by ComEd
As the CTE Department continues to build external partnerships with our community to create and provide various career opportunities for our students (Board Goal # 1 & # 5), the ComED Signature Event was a huge success. Attached, please find photos of our students with industry professionals from ComEd, photos with the company president and CEO of ComEd, Ms. Anne Pramaggiore, and students posing and asking questions of the renown Super Soaker inventor/engineer, Mr. Lonnie G. Johnson. 
Diversity Dinner Kickoff Breakfast
Saturday marked the kick off for the 19th Annual South Suburban Diversity Dinners. With Honorary chairpersons, Debbie Meyers-Martin (Olympia Fields Village President) and John Ostenburg (Park Forest Village Mayor), the planning committee led by Congresswoman Robin Kelly has begun preparations for the April 14th event.

Parent University Meeting 2.27.16
District 227 understands that parent-school partnerships are essential in preparing our children to become knowledgable, responsible, caring adults. 
Rich East Pretty Prom Dresses Initiative
The Rich East Parent Booster Club is launching the Pretty Prom Dresses Initiative. This unique program assists young ladies that would love to attend prom, but may not be able to afford the expenses associated with the prom, such as purchasing tickets, dresses, shoes, and accessories. 
District Special Olympics make history and win the gold in basketball
Congratulations to the Special Olympics Basketball Team (OlyRockStars) on making history by winning the Gold! They're headed downstate on March 10th to compete the for state title! 
FAFSA Night for Spanish Speaking Families
In our continued effort to reach out to all families, District 227 held its first Financial Aid Night for Spanish Speaking Families. Mr. Manuel Talavera from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) presented information about the financial aid process and college entrance prerequisites.

December 15 board meeting update
The Board of Education meeting previously scheduled for December 15 will be held on December 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the District Administrative Center.
