Annual CTE College and Career Readiness Fair
The District 227 CTE College and Career Readiness Fair attracts colleges, universities, and businesses from various parts of the country for our students to discuss post-secondary college and career opportunities. 
Pancake Breakfast with Santa
On Saturday, December 3rd, District 227 will host the Annual Pancake Breakfast & Holiday Faire with Santa. It's a fun event for the entire family, so make plans to attend! 
District 227 Administrators attend the Prairie State/Career Preparation Network Regional Luncheon
District 227 administrators were invited to attend the Prairie State College and Career Preparation Network Regional Luncheon.  
Olympian Marching Band takes 1st at Spooktacular Band Festival and Parade Competition
The Rich Central Marching Band took Grand Champion honors at the Oblong "Spooktacular" Band Festival and Parade Competition, this past Saturday. They took first place in all major categories including Best Drum Majors, Best Percussion, and Best Auxiliary.

This represents the culmination of a very successful marching band season, which included first place finishes at the Bud Billiken Parade, the Chicago Football Classic Battle of the High School Bands, and the Metamora Marching Band Festival. These students are truly remarkable!
Rich East students attend Teen Driver Safety Fair
Rich East students had the opportunity to attend the "Teen Driver Safety Fair" hosted by State Farm Insurance and Jesse White (Secretary of State) at the House of Hope in Chicago.  
Rich Central celebrates with Elim Christian Services
Before their playoff game against Woodstock North High School, the Rich Central Varsity Football Team, Cheer Team, Marching Band, and Flag Team celebrated and performed at Elim Spirit Day with the Elim Christian Services, an organization with the mission to equip individuals with disabilities to achieve their highest God-given potential! 
The Rockets Rock a New Gym Floor
Recently, The Main Gym floor at Rich East was completely refinished with new logo's and striping. It has been more than 25 years since the floor has been refinished, and the students are excited to compete on their awesome looking floor! 
Annual Technology Day Competition
Approximately 35 students enrolled in our CTE - Applied Technology Courses from District 227 participated in the Annual Technology Day Competition at Illinois State University. 
Music @ the Movies
On Wednesday, October 26th, the Rich Central band has been invited to perform at the new Marcus Theater in Country Club Hills, from 5-7pm. Additionally, the band will receive a portion of the proceeds of every movie ticket sold on Wednesday, the 26th. So come out, see a movie, and support the band! 
District 227 Students Prepare for Ghana
This year, for the first time ever, district 227 students will journey together to Ghana, West Africa!! Students will depart the US on March 3rd to land on Ghanaian soil on March 4th. During their Ghanaian Tour they will visit historical places such as The River of the Last Bath, The Slave Castles, The Door of No Return, Kumasi, The WEB DuBois Museum and gravesite, The Kwame Nkrumah exhibit, and much, much more!!!! Rich South Participates in Taste of Matteson
The taste of Matteson & Unity Day celebrates the diversity of our community. It provides an opportunity for residents to interact and learn more about culture sharing by bringing people of different backgrounds together, while enjoying sample of various cuisines from restaurants in the area. Rich South's Pro Start students, under the supervision of Chef Crawford and Ms. Wilkes, were represented again this year as they put on a splendid Culinary display of Caribbean spiced skewered chicken, shrimp, island salsa, and Jasmine rice . Their dessert table overflowed with a multitude of South Sea Tropical pastries. The patrons of this event always look forward to what Rich South's Pro Start students have to offer. 
Richton Park Honors 7 Residents in 9th Annual "I Make A Difference" Awards
Junior Kayla Brooks and Principal Michael McGrone were recipients of the "I Make A Difference" award.
