Annual Technology Day Competition
Approximately 35 students enrolled in our CTE - Applied Technology Courses from District 227 participated in the Annual Technology Day Competition at Illinois State University. 
Music @ the Movies
On Wednesday, October 26th, the Rich Central band has been invited to perform at the new Marcus Theater in Country Club Hills, from 5-7pm. Additionally, the band will receive a portion of the proceeds of every movie ticket sold on Wednesday, the 26th. So come out, see a movie, and support the band! 
District 227 Students Prepare for Ghana
This year, for the first time ever, district 227 students will journey together to Ghana, West Africa!! Students will depart the US on March 3rd to land on Ghanaian soil on March 4th. During their Ghanaian Tour they will visit historical places such as The River of the Last Bath, The Slave Castles, The Door of No Return, Kumasi, The WEB DuBois Museum and gravesite, The Kwame Nkrumah exhibit, and much, much more!!!! Rich South Participates in Taste of Matteson
The taste of Matteson & Unity Day celebrates the diversity of our community. It provides an opportunity for residents to interact and learn more about culture sharing by bringing people of different backgrounds together, while enjoying sample of various cuisines from restaurants in the area. Rich South's Pro Start students, under the supervision of Chef Crawford and Ms. Wilkes, were represented again this year as they put on a splendid Culinary display of Caribbean spiced skewered chicken, shrimp, island salsa, and Jasmine rice . Their dessert table overflowed with a multitude of South Sea Tropical pastries. The patrons of this event always look forward to what Rich South's Pro Start students have to offer.

Bargaining Update October 14, 2016
This joint letter from the Rich Township High School District 227 and the Rich Township High School Education Association, IEA-NEA (RTHSEA), is to update teachers, administrators, support staff, and all stakeholders in the Rich Township High School District 227 community of the status of and progress towards a new agreement between the District and the RTHSEA. 
Recent Rich East Grad Zack Abbott Helps Publish Board Game
For years, Zach Abbott, a recent gradate of Rich East High School, enjoyed video games. He enjoyed them so much, after matriculating from Rich East, Abbott began to study Game Design at Bradley University.

Applied Technology Opens Doors For District 227 Students
District 227 has established a Manufacturing Career Program that develops in-demand skill sets and provides students with post-secondary career opportunities.

Manufacturing Careers Outreach Coordinator Mark Kramer, and Applied Technology Teacher Michael Wilson (pictured), are connecting students with internships and sustainable careers in manufacturing.

The Chicago Tribune recognizes the success of the Rich Central Girl's Volleyball Team (14-9) and the one-two punch of Mahogany Vinson and teammate Lauren Spivey.

Junior High Band Day
Music and Band Director Phil Crews hosted the first “Junior High Band Day” at Rich Central during a home football game. More than 40 junior high students from Huth and Southwood joined the Rich Central Band for a fun day of learning and musical excitement. Students participated in the electrical experience of performing at a high school football game on Friday night under the lights. The day started with teaching the students fundamentals, including how to warm up properly and the importance of producing a good tone. 
Rich Central Marching Band are 3-Peat Champs at Bud Billiken Parade
The Rich Central Marching Band won the Bud Billiken Parade Contest for the are 3-Peat Champs, winning the highly-coveted crown three years in a row! 
District 227 and Southland College Prep Charter High School Partner Together For Equity For All Students
District 227 Interim Superintendents Mr. Wright and Dr. Coleman partner with Southland College Prep Charter High School Superintendent Dr. Davis to promote equitable education for all of our students.

The Proposed Referendum Question: Are you opposed to the current funding of the Southland College Prep Charter High School, which funding involves the diversion by the State of Illinois of approximately $8,000,000 each year from the general state aid which would otherwise go to Rich Township High School District 227?
