Rich South's Payton Head Meets with President Obama!

Payton Head, Rich South senior, was selected to represent the state of Illinois as a member of The American Legion Boys State Conference. More than 600 boys were selected from across the state of Illinois, including those holding roles student council presidents, National Honor Society members, Eagles scouts, and Valedictorians.

Of those 600 young leaders from Illinois, ONLY TWO were selected to represent the state of Illinois at Boys Nation.  Our very own Payton Head was interviewed by the American Legionaires , and selected as one of the two Boys Nation Senators from Illinois.

The two Senators were each awarded a $1,500 scholarship, and were flown to Washington D.C. to meet with over high-achieving young male leaders from across the nation.  The group laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetary, visited their respective senators on Capitol Hill, and met with President Obama in the East Room of the White House.

Because Payton is from the president's home state, he had the privelege of presenting him with the official pin of American Legion Boys Nation.

Congratuations to Rich South's Payton Head!!
