Proud Alumni Return to Teach...Giving Back, Making a Difference
District 227 is pleased to welcome four of its valued alumni into roles as educators within our district. With great pride for their schools and a commitment to their students, these Rich Township graduates have returned to guide the next generation of leaders:
Kelli Townsend
Alumnus, Rich South
Rich South Special Education Teacher
“I was fortunate to have the opportunity to graduate from one of the best high school districts in the South Suburbs. When I attended high school, my teachers emphasized taking responsibility, initiative, and doing my part in terms of demonstrating good behavior, maintaining good grades and being able to successfully cooperate with others inside and outside of the classroom. Now, that I am a teacher, I believe those same concepts apply. I am very proud to now be a part of such a dynamic team of professional educators who are committed and dedicated to being proactive and providing a safe and successful learning community for our students.”
Kirk Keelan
Alumnus, Rich Central
Rich South & Rich Central Social Studies Teacher
“I believe that attending Rich Central prepared me for my career as an educator by surrounding me, as a student, with teachers that wanted nothing more than for me to succeed. These teachers served as an example of what I want to be as an educator. I want my students to know that when they walk into my classroom, that I will make sure they leave surpassing all expectations.”
Earl Rogers
Alumnus, Rich South
Rich East Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher
“My education at Rich South prepared me to find a way, or make one, to solve any of life's difficulties. I take that same approach when educating young people.”
Monica Bell
Alumnus, Rich Central
Rich South Foreign Language Teacher
“My education from Rich Central prepared me to compete with some of the best and the brightest at Northwestern University, where I earned my undergraduate degree. It also helped me to take what I've learned from my AP and Honors classes to study abroad in France. I am very proud to be a product of Rich Township High Schools.”
District 227 welcomes these innovative educators, knowing that their passion for teaching will guide our students towards a future of excellence.
