Board of Education Meeting Update
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education for March 21, 2017 has been rescheduled to March 28, 2017. 
Juniors will take the SAT on Wednesday, April 5, 2017
Dear RTHS District 227 Parents and Guardians:

On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, District 227 Juniors will take the SAT, and is also a non-attendance day for Freshmen, Sophomores, and Seniors.

The SAT is an official exam, and the scores are accepted by colleges and universities for admission and scholarships.

For April 5th, students are reminded to get a good night’s sleep, enjoy a healthy breakfast, and to bring their student ID, several No.2 pencils, and a calculator.

Ramp Up with STEM
Ramp Up with STEM is a great way for incoming freshman to get a head start in their high school experience. Program highlights are: reading, writing, algebra, robotics, manufacturing, and culinary. Ramp Up includes meals and transportation and begins Monday, June 12th. 
PTSO Scholarship
Applications are now available in the Main Office for PTSO scholarships.  Parents must have paid their PTSO dues in order for the student to be eligible. 
Stars win battle with the Warriors
On February 7th the Lady Stars battled Crete on Senior Night. 
SAT Bootcamp
In preparation for the SAT, we are offering students an opportunity to learn test taking strategies as well as gain exposure to testing format.   
District 227 OlyRockStars win their division
The OlyRockStars make history again by winning 1st Place in their division. Both, Team X and Team O won 1st place in their division, earning the gold and will compete at Illinois State University in March to compete for the State Title in their division.

The entire District 227 family support the OlyRockStars and sincerely thanks Coach Sandy Clark and Coach Gutierrez for their leadership.
 
2nd Annual Alumni Day
On Tuesday, January 10th, 2017, Rich South will host its 2nd Annual Alumni Day, along with our 2nd semester PBIS celebration. Make plans to attend and contact other Rich South alumni.  
STEM Read: Ashfall
41 Rich South students traveled to Northern Illinois University where they met STEM Read, author Mike Mullin, and university experts for an immersive, hands‐on survival game.
