Rich Township High School District 227
Rich Township High School Education Association, IEA-NEA
August 11, 2016
This joint letter from the Rich Township High School District 227 and the Rich Township High School Education Association, IEA-NEA (RTHSEA), is to update teachers, administrators, support staff, and all stakeholders in the Rich Township High School District 227 community of the status of and progress towards a new agreement between the District and the RTHSEA.
On June 14, 2016, the parties participated in interest-based bargaining training in an effort to continue fostering the positive and collaborative relationship that we have worked so hard to develop. We are pleased to report that after using an interest-based problem-solving approach, we have collaboratively generated options for dealing with the following issues: safety, class size, teacher discipline, and RIF’s. At our upcoming sessions, we look forward to finalizing tentative agreements on contract language for these issues.
In order to stay true to the integrity of this process, please understand we will be unable to provide more specific details on everything being discussed. It is our desire to address this issue by providing more frequent updates as we reach agreement on issues in the future. Thank you for patience in advance.
The parties look forward to continuing this positive and collaborative approach not only at the negotiating table but also as we continue to work together daily to serve the best interest of the students and the entire Rich Township High School District 227 community. - See more at: http://www.rich227.org/protected/ArticleView.aspx?iid=5AYYP0&dasi=3U0B#sthash.1wna84Sz.dpuf
