Dear Rich Township High School District 227 Family:
As we close out the 2018-19 school year, I want to thank our students, staff, families, and community members for an incredible year. Last week, more than 900 students earned their diplomas from Rich Township High School District 227.
The work of ensuring our students reach this important milestone is not accomplished in isolation. A supportive community of teachers, administrators, community members and parents placed their arms around our talented scholars and helped them blossom into the outstanding young adults they are today. Our graduates leave us prepared to participate in our democracy, positively improve our community, and enter a career or extend their education.
The Class of 2019 is truly remarkable, earning more than $12.3 million in total scholarships. Twenty-one seniors have decided to serve our country in the military, while more than 380 will continue their educational journeys by attending a college or university.
Together, as a family of schools serving more than 3,000 students, we have accomplished a great deal. Our robotics team took sixth place at state, while our Art of DJ and Glass Arts programs made great strides in providing unique learning opportunities to our students. Each and every day, our students have learned and grown in countless ways.
Over the summer, we will be working hard to prepare for a great 2019-20 school year. This includes a new online registration
process to streamline the enrollment process and ensure we are ready on day one for instruction. More details on this system will be available soon.
Building on this year’s positive relationships and our relentless focus on students and their success, we look forward to greeting your child on the first day of school
, getting to know you better, and partnering to ensure your child’s story, strengths, and needs are truly supported. We also encourage you to connect with us via Facebook and Twitter.
We look forward to many more milestones and achievements to come!
Dr. Johnnie Thomas
