At Rich South, we strive to
develop young adults that can positively contribute to their community. We also understand that service learning is a key component of this, and that research shows that having service learning increases a child’s attitude toward school and learning, civic engagement, social skills,
and academic performance. To reflect our commitment to this, Rich South is organizing its third
annual Kindness Day to take place on April 17.
On this day, students will
participate in a variety of service learning projects, such as:
- Blessing Bags for the homeless
- Care packages for women in women’s shelters
- Activity bags for children in the hospital
- Fleece blankets for infants in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (via
St. Linus Project)
- Shoes for children in Uganda (via Sole Hope)
- Appreciation bags for first responders
- Decorated place mats for the elderly who receive Meals on Wheels
