Rich South's First Annual Kindness Day
Rich South is organizing its first Annual Kindness Day on April 25, 2017.
At Rich South, we strive to develop young adults that can positively contribute to their community. We also understand that service learning is a key component of this, and that research shows that having service learning increases a child’s attitude toward school and learning, civic engagement, social skills, and academic performance. To reflect our commitment to this, Rich South is organizing its first annual Kindness Day to take place on April 25.
On this day, students will participate in a variety of service learning projects, such as:
Blessing Bags for the homeless
Care packages for women in women’s shelters
Activity bags for children in the hospital
Fleece blankets for infants in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (via St. Linus Project)
Shoes for children in Uganda (via Sole Hope)
Appreciation bags for first responders
Decorated place mats for the elderly who receive Meals on Wheels
While we have received a great deal of donations from community members, we need your help to reach our goal of creating 200 of each item. You can help by donating any of the following listed below. If you prefer, you can also make monetary donations in the form of a check made out to Rich South High School. A receipt and donation letter will be given.
· Travel sized toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, or toothpaste)
· Individually packaged toothbrushes
· Individually packages snacks (granola bars, fruit snacks, crackers, etc.)
· Quart sized zip lock bags
· Fleece blanket swatches
· Feminine hygiene products
· Individually wrapped candy
· Art supplies (markers, crayons, etc.)

We thank you in advance for your support! Your donation is greatly appreciated and will be used to show the Stars at Rich South that giving is truly better than receiving.
