Rich Township High School District 227 Board of Education approved Dr. Alicia Evans as the new Assistant Superintendent of Business Operations at Tuesday night’s meeting. Evans will be responsible for developing the district’s budget, overseeing all facilities and operations, managing the business office and other fiscal operations.
“The board has a goal to make sure we are good stewards of taxpayer’s dollars. Dr. Evans’ hire will ensure we meet that expectation,” said Randy Alexander, Board of Education president.
Prior to joining District 227, she served as the assistant superintendent of finance and operations at Oak Park School District 97, chief of business and human resources director at Prairie-Hills ESD 144 and business manager at Hoover Schrum School District 157. Evans holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and bachelor’s in finance from Roosevelt University. She has also earned an M.B.A from Northern Illinois University.
“Evans has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills throughout her educational career. She has a strong fundamental understanding of operating primary and secondary schools. Her leadership will help to move the organization forward,” said Dr. Johnnie Thomas, District 227’s superintendent.
Evans says she is extremely honored and
humbled by this opportunity to serve as the new assistant superintendent of
business and operations. She plans to implement strategies that will benefit
the financial condition of the district.
“My goals would be to make sure that we are operating in a fiscally responsible manner, and maximize our resources to support our students and staff,” said Evans.
