Rich South, we strive to develop young adults that can positively contribute to their community. We also understand that service learning is a key component of this, and that research shows that having service learning increases a child’s attitude toward school and learning, civic engagement, social skills, and academic performance. The Rich East Manufacturing, Engineering, and Robotics club (M.E.R.) participated in the Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics at South Suburban College in South Holland. The students have diligently worked on their robots for months and have had a great time doing so.

We're excited for our RAMP-UP with STEM Summer Program for District 227 incoming freshman. Program Highlights include: reading, writing, algebra, robotics, manufacturing, and culinary arts. The program runs Monday-Thursday 8am-12pm June 12th through June 29th, and includes meals and transportation.

Under the leadership of District CTE Coordinator Ms. Hope Stovall, the CTE Department continues to build external partnerships with our community to create and provide various career opportunities for our students (Board Goal #1 & #5).

The Ten80 STEM Innovators-in-Traning and Expo was a huge success. The students engaged in various skills workshops that addressed different concepts and skills, but all addressed a key concept of the innovation process. Students were also exposed to a variety of career paths in government and economics.
