RICH TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 227

SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD

AUGUST 9, 2008

 

The Board of Education of Rich Township High School District 227 met in a Special Meeting at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center, Tinley Park, on August 9, 2008.  Mr. Brunson called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

 

Present: Brookins, Brunson, Imoukhuede, Moten, Norwood (8:20 a.m.) Owens, Upshaw

 

Also Present: Mr. Hunigan, Ms. Kwasa (Illinois Association of School Boards), Ms. DiPrima (Illinois Association of School Boards)

 

Board members recapped the items discussed on August 8, 2008.  It was recommended that the Board use “A Board Governance Framework” document.  It was decided that the administrative procedures should go to the Policy Committee of the Whole.  The Board went over the booklet entitled “Monitoring District Performance Workshop” with the representatives from the Illinois Association of School Boards.

 

The Board recommended looking at the policy regarding committee meetings.  There was discussion on the role of the Board president.  The Board needs to look at its policy regarding conferences.

 

At 12:00 noon, Mrs. Owens moved that the Board adjourn its Special Meeting.  Mrs. Moten seconded the motion.  Mr. Brunson declared the meeting adjourned.
