The Technology Committee of the Board of Education of Rich Township High School District 227 met on March 8, 2007, in the District Administrative Center, Olympia Fields, Illinois.


Mr. Cohn called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.


Present: Cohn (Chair), Moten (Member), Jasinevicius (Member 6:50 p.m.), Brunson, Brookins, Owens


Also Present: Mr. Hunigan, Mr. Koutavas, Mrs. Treichel, Mrs. Jonas, Mr. Levin, Mr. Brian Molitor (Pearson), Ms. Deanna Kovalcik (Maximus), Mr. Dan Youngren (Maximus)



Ms. Kovalcik and Mr. Youngren presented information on SchoolMax Student Information System.  They noted that SchoolMax is currently used by four school districts throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.



Mr. Molitor presented information on Pearson’s PowerSchool Student Information System. Mr. Molitor stated that PowerSchool is the largest web based system in the State of Illinois and is used by 60 districts in Illinois.



Mr. Cohn asked Mr. Koutavas to make a list of items that could possibly go wrong when the system is implemented.



Mr. Koutavas presented an update on the Wireless Point To Point Network Project for the District.  This was approved as part of the technology plan.



Mr. Koutavas noted that the District’s Technology Plan was expiring on June 30, 2007.  The State Board of Education needs the plan completed by April 15, 2007.  He will bring the plan to the April Board Meeting.
