Located approximately 30 minutes south of Chicago, Rich Township High School District 227 consists of three suburban campuses: Rich Central, Rich East, and Rich South. Together, our award-winning schools serve all or part of the south suburban, communities of Chicago Heights, Country Club Hills, Matteson, Park Forest, Olympia Fields, Richton Park, University Park, and Tinley Park. Because of our proximity to Chicago, students have access to internationally-acclaimed colleges, universities, museums, cultural centers, fine arts programs, entertainment, shopping, and more.

First organized by volunteers of the new community of Park Forest, District 227 opened Rich High School, now known as Rich East, in 1953. Next, Rich Central High School, located in Olympia Fields, opened in 1961 and Rich South, located in Richton Park, later opened in 1972. The most recent North Central Association evaluation praises all three Rich High Schools for their secure learning environments and high expectations for both students and staff.

The Rich Township High School District employs more than 600 individuals and serves more than 4,000 students. Nowhere else in the area do so many people from so many walks of life come together each day to learn and work for the good of all. Thank you for your interest in our learning community.
