Rich Central High School Athletics

ISHA Academic Eligibility Requirement
The IHSA requires all student-athletes and activity participants to pass 5 classes per week and per semester.


Rich Township District 227 Grade Point Average Eligibility
The Rich Township District 227 student-athlete eligibility policy requires that each student-athlete achieve a 2.0 GPA (C average) each quarter or the previous semester in order to participate in an athletic or activity program, including Band and Chorus. All incoming freshman are eligible to compete during the 2016-2017 fall quarter. In order to participate in all subsequent seasons, a student must achieve a GPA of 2.0 each quarter or for each semester. Returning students must have achieved a 2.0 GPA during the fourth quarter or the second semester of the 2015-2016 school year in order to participate in fall athletics. If you have any questions regarding your student’s eligibility for athletics and activities, please contact the athletic office or inquire with your head coach.

Athletic Physical Examinations
It is mandatory that all athletes, have a yearly physical examination completed on an IHSA Pre-participation Examination form. Freshmen can use their school physical medical entrance exam to participate in athletics during the 2016-2017 school year. The athletic department requires student-athletes to submit a physical exam form completed with the physician’s office stamp.

Parent/Guardian Permission and Other Forms

The following forms must be completed, signed and returned to your coach by the end of the first week of practice:

  • Parents’ Permission Consent Form
  • IHSA Sports Medicine Acknowledgement and Consent Form
  • Rich Central Athletic Program Participation Rules and Expectations Form.

Forms are available in the Athletic Office, and from your coach. Your student-athlete will not be allowed to tryout unless these forms are on file in the Athletic Office. Please be certain parent/guardian and athlete sign and date all forms.



Rich Central will provide a certified athletic trainer. We follow state and federally mandated concussion protocols.


Team Pictures
Check with your coach or sponsor for specific picture times. If you are interested in purchasing any of these pictures, you must have the order form, along with the payment, on the day of the pictures. The forms will be distributed by your coach prior to picture day.


Family Athletic Passes
A family athletic pass can be purchase for $50. This pass allows family members (immediate family members in your residence) to attend all regular season home games at no cost (excludes Rich Central Invitationals, SAC and IHSA tournaments). Family athletic passes are available in the athletic office.
